The Life Plan Humboldt (LPH) Board is pleased to announce that on July 17, 2023, they signed a purchase option agreement on the 14.58 acre Hiller Road property in McKinleyville.
Development of the first not-for-profit, resident-led, life plan community will now move into the design and implementation stage. With this agreement, LPH has secured the right to purchase the property once plans are approved and licensed, deposits are collected, and financing is obtained. The final transfer of property will follow once due diligence has been satisfied.
LPH is a grassroots, volunteer-driven project to design a senior community that will offer independent residences, shared dining and activities, health care management, in-home assistance, and memory care all on one campus.
We project a campus of up to 204 cottages and apartments, with up to 60 of those homes (29%) developed separately as affordable senior housing.
This community will be built from scratch and the cost of construction is considerable. LPH has raised over $1 Million of the $5 Million needed to complete the purchase and initiate the bond funding, so we continue to fundraise.
The lower the amount of our bond debt, the lower the entry fees will be.
