I moved to the north coast because I was looking for small-town atmosphere, near a university, on the west coast, with moderate weather and a reasonable cost of living. The only place that met those criteria was the Eureka-Arcata-McKinleyville area! I was fortunate to spend my career as a biologist working here. Now that I am retired I am looking to live out my life in a community of 50+ people. To live in the Life Plan Humboldt community would accommodate my needs as I age. Currently I do volunteer activities, yard work, hike and bike, but as I age, my range of activities will change. Life Plan Humboldt would provide services that progress with the needs of aging at an affordable cost. Life Plan Humboldt would enable independence and privacy, but also opportunity for socialization, personal growth, community involvement, and intellectual stimulation in a setting that is safer, more secure, more environmentally responsible and more economically dependable than living alone in a house.
