- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:Monday, September 18, 2023 SACRAMENTO–Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg) obtained $1.435 million in state funding to assist in a McKinleyville development by Life Plan Humboldt (LPH), which will be a resident-led not-for-profit senior community of 144 homes, including 60 affordable senior homes, with services available to ensure residents can age in place. - BUSINESS PLAN UPDATE Greenbriar, the company advising LPH, will update the financial plan and timeline of the project. They will factor in the number of homes planned for the McKinleyville campus and update the cost of land and construction. DESIGN LPH will contract local and national architects to design the campus with input from future residents. - The Life Plan Humboldt (LPH) Board is pleased to announce that on July 17, 2023, they signed a purchase option agreement on the 14.58 acre Hiller Road property in McKinleyville. Development of the first not-for-profit, resident-led, life plan community will now move into the design and implementation stage. - Opinion by JoAnn Schuch As a volunteer and board member of Life Plan Humboldt (LPH) it is always great to get questions about the new senior community we are working to build in McKinleyville. It is a complicated project still in development. Recently there have been inaccuracies and misconceptions about LPH circulating in public media.
